Sorry I've been like, completely inactive the past few days! I've actually been in hospital... :S
It's linked to the illness journal so I'm not gonna explain it all properly again ahaa
After still not getting better after about 2 weeks of this pain and 2 courses of antibiotics, I made an emergency appointment at the local A+E first thing Sunday morning. Straight away, they told me this;Basically, I
had a really serious ear infection that passed over to the other ear - The fluid passed backwards into the ear and the air sacs rather than out of it and then healing. It could've potentially made me deaf or have to have a skin-graft if not sorted.
They immediately referred me to the ENT specialist in The next hospital over, Carmarthen.. which is an hour's drive away from me. woohoo.
Anyway, got there and they took me into a room and the treatment was so freaking painful I'm not even gonna lie. They had to put this big like, rounded triangle tube in my ear to see through and then stick little hoover, sucky pipe things down it to try and drain the fluid. It doesn't sound that bad, but when you've got someone scraping around the inside of your ear when it's bloodied, swollen and very, VERY sore even to just lightly touch the outside, it is NOT comfortable at all. Due to the pain, and the fact that I actually ended up bursting into tears, they could only drain a little bit and said they would have to do it in little sections. So I stayed in all day and then overnight. They did the same thing the next day, still couldn't finish it. Stayed in all day and overnight AGAIN. They did the same thing this morning and THANKFULLY, managed to get enough out for me to go home.
Still though, it was absolutely horrible. I have to go back to clinic on Thursday where they might have to do it again, but after that I never EVER want to have to experience something that uncomfortable ever again omg. THOUGH, I did get to see the inside of my ear on a screen which was both pretty gross and pretty cool.
Also, my doctor was super hot ngl ngl.
ANYWAY. The only other thing was that I had to have like a tube constantly in my arm which was connected to my veins so that they could give me anything straight away if they needed. It meant I could hardly move my arm for pain and fear of it popping out and them having to re-inject the thing back in. They had to regularly syringe the antibiotics into my arm which was the weirdest feeling ever. It's freezing cold and you feel it spreading through your veins and up your arm and it bubbles sometimes and eoghewoghgpwgw shiver. Not nice.
I'M A LOT BETTER NOW THOUGH WOOHOO. Still a little sore, and VERY VERY tired, but on the way to recovery!! Just got my heart operation to go in about 3 weeks now ahaa..ha..ha..cry.
